CR-42 Roofing license, ROC 336896

Blueberry Gutters LLC is licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors under the CR-42 Roofing classification, license number ROC 336896, issued March 1, 2022 in Phoenix. Bonded and insured as the license requires.

Why a roofing license is the gutter license

In Arizona, roofing is a licensed trade and gutters are part of it. The Registrar of Contractors issues CR-42 Roofing only to contractors who carry the required bond and insurance and have passed the state trade and business exams. The classification is the one Arizona applies to roof systems and to the flashings, edge metal, scuppers and drainage that make them watertight, which is where gutters sit.

That last part is the point for a gutter company. A gutter is the bottom of a drainage chain that starts at the ridge. When a monsoon overflow is really a slipped tile, a failed drip edge or a clogged scupper, a CR-42 licensed crew can correct the roof-edge cause. An unlicensed crew that only hangs troughs cannot.

What we do with it

Blueberry Gutters does not sell roofing. The CR-42 classification is the license Arizona requires for gutter and drainage work, and it is what lets us handle the drip edge, the fascia and the scuppers that a gutter job touches. Our work is seamless gutters, downspouts, guards, rain chains and the drainage side of flat roofs. If your problem sits above the gutter, we will say so and point you to a roofer.

What the license protects you from

Unlicensed roof-edge work can void manufacturer warranties on the roof itself and turns into a disclosure problem at resale, when an inspection finds work no licensed contractor signed off on. An ROC license means a bond, insurance, permits pulled where they are required, and a state complaint process behind the job.

One licensed water path

Holding the roofing classification while doing only gutters means we can treat the roof edge, the gutter and the downspout as one continuous system, and correct a bad drip edge or a clogged scupper as part of a gutter job instead of leaving it for someone else. That is what we do across Phoenix and the North Valley. Start with seamless gutter installation or gutter repair.

License questions

Is there a gutter license in Arizona?

No. The Arizona Registrar of Contractors does not issue a gutter-specific classification. Gutter and downspout work falls under roofing, which is the CR-42 classification Blueberry Gutters LLC holds. A gutter company without an ROC license is working unlicensed.

How do I verify ROC 336896?

Search the license number on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors website. The listing shows Blueberry Gutters LLC under CR-42 Roofing, the license status, and the bond on file. We are happy to send the link with your estimate.

Do you do roofing too?

No. Blueberry Gutters installs and repairs gutters, downspouts, guards and rain chains, and maintains the drainage on flat roofs. The CR-42 license lets us work the roof edge a gutter job touches, the drip edge, fascia and scuppers. Anything above that we refer to a roofer.

Why does bonded and insured matter?

The license bond and insurance are conditions of holding an ROC license. If something goes wrong on your roof edge, there is a state complaint process and coverage behind the work, which is not true of an unlicensed handyman hanging gutters.
